With the 2019 football season fast approaching, I’m delighted that more players will soon get to enjoy a high-grade playing surface at Mullum Mullum Oval 2.

Works to upgrade the oval’s playing surface, at a cost of $950,000, are on track with the new-look ground scheduled to reopen in April. This work complements the new Kevin Pratt Pavilion which was completed in 2016.

Mullum Mullum Reserve is a well-utilised sporting precinct, being home to 200- plus players, from football, netball and cricket, as well as multiple user groups such as U3A Ringwood.

The works to improve the playing surface will not only make the ground safer, but also help to cater for the growing number of female and junior players using the ground.

This is of the many examples of Council’s continued investment in the future of grassroots sports.
