I was excited to be part of the 2019 Safe Cities Meeting at Realm last month. The meeting is a national initiative aimed at promoting safety and reducing crime within local communities. So it was a significant honour for Maroondah to host the event for the first time and showcase our local partnerships and achievements in this space.

The two-day meeting was an opportunity to discuss community safety, public area safety and the latest research in the field.

We also had the opportunity to discuss new initiatives and long-term strategies on how to keep our cities safe.

One of the highlights for those attending was to see the integration of Realm, Ringwood Town Square and Ringwood Station, which was achieved by strong partnerships between Council, all levels of government and the private sector.

We live is such a wonderful community, so it is important that we all continue to work together to keep our community a safe and supportive place for people to live, work and visit.
