Latest news from Cr Steane

Our new Croydon Town Square is fast becoming a reality with the opening on track for the end of March. It’s been wonderful to hear from the community as they’ve watched the construction take shape, and seeing how closely the reality aligns with the design illustrations.

Of course, one of the benefits of the new Town Square will be the improved pedestrian connection and sight lines between the very busy Croydon station and bus interchange and the Main Street shopping precinct.

Other safety initiatives recently completed include the Croydon Connects project which saw the installation of new street lighting and wayfinding signage; an upgrade and extension of the existing CCTV network within the Croydon Town Centre; and the Render Youth Art project which has seen mural artwork introduced into Croydon.

Our community told us that they want to feel safe and connected, and the new Croydon Town Square is another step to improve safety and amenity for Croydon.
