I was delighted to see so many people attend our recent Living Maroondah: a future for our plants, animals and us symposium.

This was a great example of the community coming together to look at options and issues for the future of vegetation in Maroondah. The success of this event was not only in the 130 people who attended, but in the depth of interactive and positive discussion, all of which will help in the development of Council’s vegetation strategy.

Several attendees also expressed their interest in nominating to be a member of Maroondah’s Environmental Advisory Committee, which sees Council and key community stakeholders working together on local issues of environmental sustainability.

Another way residents can provide valuable feedback is by participating in our ‘Mission Imaginable’ challenge, which forms part of our comprehensive review of Maroondah’s vegetation. We encourage feedback, so please visit the Your Say Maroondah website to get involved.
