There’s so much to do in Maroondah over the summer months…. Why not take the opportunity to explore Maroondah’s fantastic parks and paths with the kids?

There are more than 400 parks and reserves in Maroondah that cater for recreation, relaxation, sport and fitness, and the protection of our natural environment. Many of our parks feature dedicated walking and bike paths, and there are five marked trails that allow you to easily explore some of Maroondah’s most picturesque locations, whether on foot or by bike.

Depending on which park you choose, you will find picnic areas and barbecues, sporting facilities and grounds, skateboarding spaces, BMX areas and more. Plus, there are many and varied playgrounds to choose from, to give children the opportunity to let off some steam. In other words, plenty of free opportunities for children of all ages to reap the physical and emotional benefits of exploring the outdoors and away from screens and devices!

Maroondah’s recently updated Parks and Paths brochure is available from all Council Service Centres, and includes a large map that not only shows each park and reserve in Maroondah but also highlights key facilities and other nearby amenities.

For added convenience, Council’s website includes a searchable parks and playgrounds section. You can view an alphabetical list of all parks and playgrounds or view by map. Each listing includes icons that display which facilities are available in that park or playground. You can also search for a park or playground by keyword, activity, things to do or accessible features.
