Maroondah ratepayers paying their rates by instalments are reminded that the fourth and final instalment of their payment plan is due by Friday 31 May.

Council issues a reminder notice in the post before each quarterly instalment is due. If you have not received a reminder notice, please contact our customers service team on 1300 88 22 33.

It’s important to pay all outstanding amounts by the due date to avoid interest charges. If an instalment is unpaid by the due date, daily interest charges will accrue immediately on that instalment.

Council rates are a contribution each ratepayer makes towards the cost of maintaining community infrastructure and the community services provided by Council. Rates revenue, along with Council's other income, is used to provide services and facilities for the enjoyment, benefit and safety of the whole community.

Ratepayers have a number of convenient options for paying their rates by instalment:

  • In person: at any Australia Post office, or at any Council Service Centre
  • By phone: by credit card
  • By BPAY: directly from a bank account
  • By mail: with the re-usable envelope attached to your rates notice
  • Online

You can also register to receive your rate notice electronically, either by email or BPAY View. Ratepayers can also receive their rates notice via email, by signing up and using our eNotices portal

For more information on receiving your rates notice electronically, see Receive your rate notice online

Council has a Financial Hardship Policy to assist ratepayers who are having difficulty in meeting payment deadlines. If you’re unable to pay your rates by the due date, please contact Council as soon as possible on 1300 88 22 33 to make a more suitable payment arrangement.

For more information, including how to make a payment, late fees and concessions, see the Rates section of our website

For specific information relating to financial hardship, read our Rate Collection and Financial Hardship Policy
