Residents may notice that Council is currently undertaking repairs and maintenance works of walkways and bridges in many reserves across Maroondah.

The works are part of Council’s ongoing maintenance planning for our assets.

Works will be carried out in Hochkins Ridge Flora Reserve, Yanggai Barring Reserve, BJ Hubbard Reserve, Mullum Creek Reserve, Yarrunga Reserve and Croydon Park Boardwalk.

Councillor Rob Steane said during February and March, work will be undertaken in McAlpin Park and Candlebark Walk, including the temporary closure of two bridges within Candlebark Walk Reserve for up to 10 days.

“Ensuring that our footbridges and walkways are safe is a vital project for our community. While closures will be kept to a minimum, detour signs and pedestrian management control will be in place to advise pedestrians during these important upgrades,” said Cr Steane said.

“The works will encompass fixing barrier posts, installing steel strapping, replacing timber planks and cap railings and painting works,” said Cr Steane.
