Exercise Alpha 07
Exercise Alpha 07 was held at Karralyka Centre on Tuesday 1 May 2007.
Exercise Alpha 07 saw over 300 participants from a range of organisations and agencies in and around Maroondah participate in an all day emergency response and recovery exercise based on an avian flu pandemic. The aim was to present a very real, yet hypothetical, emergency and to explore how the community and businesses would react, what contingency plans were in place and what level of improvement was required.
Participants said that the exercise provided thoughtful insight into the effects of an avian flu pandemic on the community of Maroondah and has highlighted aspects for future planning within their businesses and organisations.
