Removal of blackberries on private property is the responsibility of the property owner. However, Council can issue a 'Notice to Comply' to private property owners should you have a concern. Please refer your complaint to Council on 1300 88 22 33 with the following information:
- Location - property address
- Complainant - name/address/contact no. (this information is kept confidential)
Removal of blackberries is only carried out throughout the months of December through to early February. In the winter months blackberries are dormant and spraying is unsuccessful. Council recommends the use of Garlon 600 as an effective eradication method.
All complaints received throughout the year prior to 1 December will be inspected on or after 1 December.
(eg: If a complaint is received on 18 March, it will be noted and inspected after 1 December of that year).
Note: Council cannot issue notices to comply in respect to the removal of other weeds.
