Eastern Alliance for Sustainable Learning (EASL)

EASL is a group of five member Councils. including: Knox City Council; Manningham City Council; Maroondah City Council; Whitehorse City Council; and Yarra Ranges Council. The group work with other stakeholders to promote lifelong learning and action that improves the health, wellbeing and environmental sustainability of local communities by:

  • Promoting innovative learning and teaching that fosters environmental citizenship.
  • Advocating for a strong and consistent commitment to learning for sustainability.
  • Building capacity of local education providers and member Councils to deliver effective sustainability initiatives to their communities.

New Program for Students: Learning for a Sustainable Future

This information session is being held to share details of the pilot student program that EASL is organising for 2018. Schools interested in participating in the Learning for a Sustainable Future program are invited to attend to find out more about the program and what is involved if they decide to participate. 

This session will outline the purpose and intended outcomes of the program, how schools can get involved as well as what their involvement means.

Events

Anyone involved in the sustainability learning community (staff, parents, broader family members, volunteers, students) is welcome to attend EASL events.

Because events are held across the eastern region there are no restrictions on attending sessions in areas outside Maroondah.

The following professional development and networking sessions are offered free, but please make sure you book.
