Community Wellbeing in Maroondah 2009-2013

The draft Maroondah Community Wellbeing Plan 2009-2013 has been developed with the purpose of providing a direction, framework and action plans that set out how, through partnerships and a commitment to addressing health inequalities, Council and the community can move towards an optimal state of health and wellbeing for the Maroondah community.

Council adopted a comprehensive approach to develop the draft Plan. This included extensive community consultations to find out what areas and issues were considered to have the greatest impact on health and wellbeing in Maroondah. Over 1,700 people participated in these consultations including local residents, Council service areas, local organisations and service providers and State Government representatives.

The valuable information gained from the consultations underpinned further research and the development of the Maroondah City Council Community Wellbeing Research Report (an evidence base for the Community Wellbeing Plan 2009-2013).

Six key health and wellbeing priorities emerged from the consultation process and research:
