Maroondah Early Years Plan

The Maroondah Early Years Plan 2010-2014 outlines Council’s commitment to improving the health, development and wellbeing of all Maroondah children over the next four years.

The Plan outlines a renewed focus on:

  • care
  • health
  • inclusion
  • leisure
  • development
  • referral
  • education

With major early childhood reforms introduced by State and Commonwealth governments, significant challenges lay ahead, however the realisation of each of these new initiatives will strengthen our services, our families and ultimately our children.

While Maroondah City Council has a responsibility to prepare, review and evaluate this Plan, no single organisation has the capacity to respond to the range of factors that influence child health, development and wellbeing in isolation.

As such the Plan will be implemented in partnership with other government departments and agencies, service providers, local organisations and the community.

Each child in Maroondah is a citizen. Therefore it is imperative that we continue to consult with children as we have done in developing this plan. Children have very clear ideas about what they need and what they want. It is our responsibility as a community to ensure that their voices are always heard and their ideas and concerns are always valued.
