Electoral Representations Review

The Victorian Government has introduced the requirement that all municipalities are to have their electoral structures reviewed at least once every eight years.

Such reviews are carried out by the Victorian Electoral Commission and an appointed Review Panel will consider four main electoral structure issues:

  • Number of Councillors;
  • Ward Structure - single member or multi member;
  • Ward Boundaries; and
  • Ward Names

For Maroondah the process will commence on 19 February 2008 with a public meeting facilitated by the VEC and conclude with the Panel's Final Report in mid May.

Detailed information on the process and how individuals and community groups may make submissions on the structural issues to the Review Panel can be found on the VEC's website.
