Emergencies
In case of an emergency call 000 as this is the only way that Council's Emergency Management Plan can be activated. Victoria Police act as the Municipal Emergency Response Coordinators (MERCs) and will in turn notify Council of any need to activate our plan. Council's Municipal Emergency Resource Officer (MERO) will then act accordingly. Please note that Council will not activate our plan unless requested by Victoria Police and in consulation with other Emergency Authorities.
Emergency Volunteer Register
The Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) has established an Emergency Volunteer Register as a resource to support local councils responding to spontaneous volunteer interest in clean up and recovery efforts. .
The Emergency Volunteer Register is available on Victoria's Volunteering Portal.
