Allocation and hiring of community facilities

Council has 48 sporting ovals and 30 pavilions, located within local parks and reserves. A number of these facilities are available for community use.

Maintenance of facilities

Community organisations who occupy Council facilities under a lease or licence agreement are required to operate to a standard maintenance agreement schedule.

Key Policy

The Key Policy is designed to maintain the security of Council buildings by ensuring that the person who accepts a Council key understands their responsibilities.

Request to carry out alterations

By submitting this form an organisation leasing a Council community facility  can ensure that all work on the premises is done with Council’s prior knowledge and approval.

Council allocates the casual usage of Council’s sporting facilities to schools, sporting clubs and community organisations.

Applications and supporting documentation must be submitted for approval at least one month prior to the booking date.

Council allocates sporting ovals and pavilions to community organisations on a seasonal basis.

Applications open annually:

  • August for summer allocations  of 1 October to 31 March
  • February for winter allocations of 1 April to 30 September.

Council community facility hire is subsidised to encourage frequent use and to support community organisations. 

Community organisations who have a lease or licence on a facility have security of tenure over a fixed period.
