Every year, Maroondah City Council celebrates Reconciliation Week between 27 May and 3 June with a range of free events and activities.

Join us on Tuesday 28 May to learn more about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, as well as a moving performances by one of Australia’s great blues artists

The day will include:

  • Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country
  • launch of Maroondah City Council’s Reconciliation Action Plan
  • performances by legendary singer/songwriter Kutcha Edwards with Yeng Gali Mullum
  • displays by Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place, Maroondah Movement for Reconciliation and CRISP Indigenous Nursery
  • light lunch will be provided.

Presented by Council in partnership with the Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place, this annual event is an opportunity to acknowledge the traditional owners of the Maroondah land, learn more about Indigenous culture and heritage and find out how you can help support reconciliation.

Event schedule 

  • 11am to 1pm - celebrations at the Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place

Please note that the flag raising ceremony originally planned from 10.30am to 11am at Braeside Avenue, Ringwood, has been cancelled due to a power outage.

This is a free event, but bookings are essential.
