What is family day care?
Maroondah Family Day Care is based at and operated by Maroondah City Council. It is funded by Council and the Federal Government.
Family Day Care is a high quality, professional, flexible and affordable home-based child care service which is responsive to the needs of children and families in the Maroondah municipality.
It is aimed primarily at children from birth to five years but can also assist school children up to the age of 12 years (and beyond in special or emergency situations).
The emphasis in Family Day Care is on security, warmth, learning and fun in a small group, family environment.
What would my child be doing?
Careproviders provide experiences and activities for children that are developmentally appropriate, are relevant to children's interests and skills and cater for diverse cultural backgrounds and special needs.
Children are also included in normal daily household routines such as cooking, shopping and visiting friends, relatives or other places.
When is family day care available?
The service operates 52 weeks of the year, seven days a week, making it even more flexible for the families of Maroondah to meet their child care needs.
We offer full-time or part-time care, before and after school care, occasional, respite, school holidays and weekend care.
It is particularly suitable for parents who have unusual work hours or need extended hours of child care for their children.Top
We're dedicated to quality care
Maroondah Family Day Care carefully selects and screens Careproviders and provides ongoing training and support. All Careproviders have a current, council approved First Aid Certificate.
Our experienced staff arrange placements to suit the needs of the family and careprovider and monitors the progress of children in care.
We also monitor children in care outside office hours and provide a 24 hour emergency on-call service to Careproviders to ensure support in emergency situations and enhance continuity of service provision for parents.

Subsidies for Family Day Care
Maroondah Family Day Care provides affordable child care for families who live, work or study in the Maroondah Municipality.
Families may also be eligible for the Childcare Benefit available through Centrelink from the Federal Government.
