There are over 400 parks and reserves in Maroondah catering for relaxation, recreation, sport and the protection of the natural environment. There are 120 playgrounds as well as parks for skateboarding and BMX riding.
Maroondah has many attractive areas where you can enjoy a family picnic and use the free electric barbeques. All we ask is that you take your rubbish home if no bins are provided.
Our city is noted for its many bushland reserves and waterways that are home to 415 indigenous plants, 116 bird species, 18 mammal species and many insects, reptiles and frogs. You can help their survival by not feeding wildlife, including ducks; leaving vegetation and dead trees in place; keeping dogs on a leash; and cats in the home at night.
