Immunisation
Immunisation is a simple, safe and effective way of protecting individuals and the community as a whole against potentially debilitating diseases. Immunisation uses the body's natural defence mechanism - the immune response - to build resistance to specific infections. The risks involved with contracting one of these diseases is far greater than the very small risks of immunisation against the disease.
Maroondah City Council is dedicated to providing a safe, convenient service and aims to achieve the best immunisation coverage possible, and our immunisation service is quality accredited.

Free vaccinations
Council provides regular free day and evening immunisation sessions for babies, pre-school children, and adults. We also offer immunisations for secondary school students at their school.

Payment vaccines
In addition to the free immunisation program, Council offers vaccinations against Chickenpox, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A, Diphtheria/Tetanus/Pertussis (whooping cough) and Seasonal Influenza on a user pays basis.
Payment vaccines are administered at the free immunisation sessions. Payments can be made at any of Council's Service Centres or EFT facilities are available at all sessions.
If your child is not eligible for the funded immunisation program or you are unsure about payment vaccines please call the Immunisation Team on 9294 5627.
Immunisation sessions
Details of the immunisation session locations and times are listed in the Immunisation Program. Everyone is welcome and no appointment is necessary.
Cancelled sesssions in extreme heat
Please note that in times of extreme heat, immunisation sessions may be cancelled. Please check our web site or call 9294 5627 to check that the immunisation session is running.
Special sessions
Council also offers special dress up party sessions for four year olds. These sessions provide a less stressful environment for parents and children.
