Overhanging Branches

Garden trees and bushes with branches overhanging the footpath should be cut back if they are at a height of less than 3 metres. Low shrubs and other vegetation should also be kept cut back from footpaths so there is clear access for pedestrians.

If you see branches or vegetation overhanging or blocking a footpath, you can note the address of the property  and inform us by submitting a customer request online, or contacting Local Laws on 1300 88 22 33.

Local Laws will then serve a Notice to Comply to the property owner requesting the braches be cut back within 14 days.  If not complied with, Council will arrange for the pruning and the costs will be charged to the property owner.
