Personal Care
Council's Personal Care Service assists service users with a range of personal care tasks to maintain independence and enhance quality of life and to assist carers in their caring role. Within Maroondah, Calvary Silver Circle Home Support Services provides Personal Care services on behalf of Council.
Service tasks
The service provides trained staff to assist with a number of personal care tasks including:
- bathing, showering, cleaning teeth and dentures
- dressing and undressing
- mobility
- eating and drinking
Eligibility
The service is aimed towards frail older residents, those with a disability, and their carers.
Assessment
Assessment for Home and Community Care services is undertaken by trained staff who are sensitive and aware of the needs of the frail aged, those with a disability, and their carers. At all times the service user's right to privacy and confidentiality is maintained. All service users will receive a record of their plan.
Cost of the service
Council's fees for HACC services are based on the Victorian Government's Home & Community Care (HACC) Fees Policy (1998). HACC fees are variable depending on the income levels of customers. The cost of the service is discussed with the customer during the assessment interview.
