Planned Activity Groups

Council's Planned Activity Group (PAG) provides activities designed to enhance or maintain the abilities of frail older persons and people with disabilities. The centre-based social program encourages independence and provides support and respite to carers.

Kerrabee Club

The Kerrabee Club operates programs four days a week - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 10.00 am and 3.00 pm. A mens shed operates on Monday 10am to 2.30pm.

Transport to and from the Club is available. Staff assist in the development of activities which are designed to enhance the physical, intellectual, psychological, social and emotional well being of people attending the Kerrabee Club. Active and passive activities are programmed to suit each person's needs including crafts, games, outings, social activities, gentle exercise, gardening, guest speakers etc.

Service users are required to provide their own lunch. Light refreshments are provided.

Assessment

Assessment for all Home and Community Care programs is undertaken by trained staff who are sensitive and aware of the needs of the frail aged and those with a disability. At all times the service user's right to privacy and confidentiality is maintained. All service users will receive a record of their individual referral information and service provision.

Eligibility

The service is directed towards frail aged residents, people with a disability and their carers.

Cost of service

Council's fees for HACC services are based on the Victorian Government's Home & Community Care (HACC) Fees Policy (1998). HACC fees are variable depending on the income level of the service user. The cost of the service is discussed with the service user during the assessment interview.
