Maroondah has many interesting educational playground facilities available to the wider community. Play equipment is designed for enjoyment as well as the development of children's skills.

Maroondah playgrounds are maintained on a regularl schedule for safety. Council has adopted a Non Use of Chemical Policy and use alternative methods and practices for weed control in the vicinity of playground and barbecue facilities within the municipality.

A feature play space is the Glen Park Community Play Space in Bayswater North
Glen Park Community Play Space
Glen Park Road, Bayswater North, Melway Ref 64 H2
Officially opened in March 2011, the Glen Park Community Play Space is for the whole family to enjoy with a wide range of innovative play equipment, designed to cater for all ages and physical abiliities.
There is a special toddlers area close to the shade shelter with:
- bongo drums
- spinning disc.
For older children there is a wide range of rope climbing challenges including:
- 6m high pyramid net
- ropes course
- spinning poles
- basket swing.
A special feature of the Glen Park Community Play Space is the learners bike track with different surface textures for bike, trike and scooter riders.
Next to the Play Space are free tennis and basketball courts - BYO equipment. The Play Space is connected to the Dandenong Creek Trail for easy walking and cycling access.
Glen Park also has a community centre with cafe (open Monday to Friday), public accessible toilets, car parking, walking paths, oval and BBQs.

AMazing Space is for people of all ages and abilities to come together in learning, play and friendship.
The playspace includes exciting and innovative equipment and designs. It provides the opportunity to involve the human senses in the play experience.
AMazing Space is themed around the four earth elements of fire, wind, water and earth. As you wander through and explore each element, discover the many interesting and stimulating objects and designs.
AMazing Space is an accessible playspace with the following features:
- six accessible car parks
- a continuous accessible path of travel both from the car park and through the playspace
- a wheel-chair accessible sand pit
- play equipment involving the senses of touch, vision, sound and voice
- an accessible toilet available throughout business hours.
