  • The rate of population growth in Maroondah is expected to be quite moderate – an average increase of 0.8% per year.
  • There will be a considerable shift in the age structure of the Maroondah community over the next 25 years.  Overall, the proportion of children and of adults aged 25-34 years will decrease.  At the same time, there will be increases in the proportion of all other age groups, particularly in the older population (aged over 55 years).

  • It is anticipated that the average household size will continue to decline, with more people living alone or in single parent or couple-only families.
  • Due to this trend towards smaller households, households will grow at a faster rate than population.
