Four year old kindergarten

The Maroondah Integrated Kindergarten Association (MIKA) maintains a central enrolment system and allocates places according to parents' preferences and their location.

20 community-based and one private kindergarten use the MIKA Central Enrolment System.

Application forms are available from the link below or from local Maternal and Child Health Centres, kindergartens, Council offices and Service Centres.

Applications should be made between February and 30 June during the year before the child is eligible to attend kindergarten.

MIKA enrolment for four year old kindergarten

When enrolling your child, parents are asked to carefully consider the age of their child and whether they will be ready for the demands of kindergarten.

The Department of Human Services provides a kindergarten fee subsidy to holders of a Pension or Health Care Card. To find out more about this subsidy visit Department of Human Services.

Three year old kindergarten

Many kindergartens offer programs for three year olds.

Enrolment for three year old programs is handled centrally by MIKA. If your child is due to begin a three year old program in 2012 or 2013, please click on the following MIKA enrolment link.
