Community Temporary Advertising
How do I apply for a permit for a temporary community promotional sign?
Apply using the application form below to Local Laws showing details of the:
- date the signs are needed
- requested location from the permitted list of sites.
- Sponsors' advertising on boards must not exceed 10% of the total sign area.
- No overhead banners are permitted and all signs are limited to a maximum size of 2.4m x 1.8m.

Permit issue guidelines
- Signs may only be placed on the designated sites on Council land
- Applications must be in writing
- The organisation applying is a Maroondah-based not-for-profit, that is promoting a community organisation or charity one-off function
- Space will be allocated subject to availability based on a first in, first served basis
- Signs are to be displayed for no more than three weeks and removed within two days of the event occurring
- No more than two signs per organisation or event are permitted at one time
- Maximum permitted size of sign is 2.4 metres by 1.8 metres
- Overhead banners or animated, illuminated or flashing signs are not permitted
- Sponsors' advertising on boards must not exceed 10% of the total sign area
- The sign must not distract or obstruct a driver's view of the traffic signals or road signs
- The sign must not cause any hazard or impediment to pedestrians
- The sign must be securely anchored, and the applicant must reinstate the area after the sign is removed
- The erection of the sign complies with Council policy
