A Ringwood District Aquatic & Leisure Centre Community Reference Group has been formed to ensure continued engagement with the Maroondah community during the much anticipated design and construction of the new state-of-the-art facility in Ringwood.
Council meets with the Community Reference Group every three months to provide an update on the progress of the facility during the design and construction stages.
The inaugural meeting of the Community Reference Group was held on Wednesday 17 August 2011, with the first order of business a briefing on the architectural company which has been appointed by Maroondah City Council to design the new Ringwood District Aquatic & Leisure Centre.
How the group was formed
Nominations for participation in the Community Reference Group were accepted until Friday 8 July 2011. A panel of Councillors considered the applications, with the final membership determined at the Council Meeting on Monday 18 July 2011.
Membership
The Community Reference Group consists of 12 community members; the Mayor of the day; three Councillors; the Chief Executive Officer and a Council Director.
