RTC Mobility and Way-finding Strategy

The main objective of this Strategy is to identify what needs to be done to enable and encourage more people to use ’active transport’ in and around Ringwood.

‘Active transport’ includes walking and cycling as well as public transport, (because most public transport trips involve some walking). It should be noted that, for the purposes of this Strategy, the term ‘walking’ is inclusive of access by people using mobility aids such as wheelchairs, scooters and walking frames, prams and shopping jeeps.Similarly, the term ‘pedestrians’ is inclusive of people using mobility aids or otherwise with impaired mobility.

Strategy recommendations are based on both detailed local consultation and research as well as best practice within Australia and overseas.
