Serving our community

Discover some of the 120 different services, events and activities Council provides to the 113,944 members of the community.

The following is a snapshot of some of the services Council provides:

  • Maternal & Child Health services support 1800 new babies and their families each year from seven centres across the municipality

  • Close to 15,500 hours of Social Inclusion and Wellbeing programs for older residents and people with a disability; and more than 250 hours of support to residents of Maroondah Supported Residential Services annually

  • 11 core programs and 11 events for our young people aged 12 to 25, as well as an information, support & referral service for young people and their families

  • A fully accredited immunisation service, which delivers more than 10,000 vaccinations each year

  • The creation and delivery of more than 32,000 Meals on Wheels meals every year

  • 94 School crossing supervisors helping children and families safely get to and from primary and secondary school at 76 crossings – rain, hail or shine

  • Community events, such as Maroondah Festival, Carols by Candlelight, Australia Day, Run Maroondah, and Reconciliation Week, which attract participation from over 40,000 people each year

  • Keeping our community active and healthy at our six Maroondah Leisure facilities - Aquanation, Aquahub, Ringwood and Dorset Golf, Croydon Memorial Pool and The Rings

  • A strong commitment by Maroondah residents has Council in the top six for recycling in the state. A total of 11,716 tonnes of plastics, glass, steel, aluminium and paper recycled and 12,544 tonnes of garden organics are collected

  •  Ownership and maintenance of 21 kindergartens that provide three and four-year-old programs

  • 34km of off road shared trails, 433 parks, 47 bush reserves and 121 playgrounds.
