Maroondah City Council manages risk in a systematic manner using the principles set out in the Australian Standards for risk management AS/NZS 31000:2009. The Policy provides the framework for achieving this and the Strategy details how the policy is implemented.

- Product and service delivery
- Ethics and corporate image
- Leadership and corporate governance
- Risk management organisation
Corporate alignment of effective risk management practices is being blended into both strategic and operational decision making processes. A Risk Committee chaired by the Director of Corporate Services monitors risk management across Council. Regular reports are made to the corporate management team and audit committee.
