Services For Youth
Maroondah Youth Services provides a wide range of direct services to local young people and their families, between the ages of 12-25 years, who live, work or study within the Maroondah municipality.
Maroondah Youth Services also plays a key role in the co-ordination of the local service system, which aims to actively identify youth needs and issues, and advocate for effective responses on behalf of local young people.
Services
EV's Youth Centre
EV's Youth Centre is open on Wednesdays (1.00-5.30 pm) & Fridays (3.30-5.30 pm) during the school term
Wednesday: Info HQ - Is an information, support and referral program. Info HQ provides young people with a safe and supportive space to access written information on a broad range of youth related topics, speak with friendly and qualified youth workers, along with having access to a computer, phone and fax. Young people can just drop in or call to make an appointment.
Friday: Drop In - Provides young people with a safe environment to meet new friends, have a game of pool, participate in a range of games/activities and have a chat to a Youth Worker.

Maroondah's FReeZA group
Approximately 12 young volunteers aged 15-21 years are recruited and trained annually. Tasks include planning and staging music events at EV's Youth Centre.
Music Events
Approximately 8 events are held per year, during school terms, costing between $8 and $15. All events are drug, alcohol and smoke free and there are no pass-outs. These events are run as part of the State Government's Freeza Program.
Youth Performing Arts Program
A program for young people aged 15-25 years to plan, organise and implement a performance representing the values of young people.
Snippets Short-Film Festival

A program for young people aged 12-16 years during school holiday periods. Bookings are essential and costs vary according to activities attended. To view program itinerary for the next school holidays click onto EV's Youth Centre website
Young Leaders Program
Approximately 30 participants from local secondary schools participate in this week long program. It provides young people in Year 10 with an opportunity to increase their confidence and learn skills that will enable them to participate more effectively in their school and community.
Personal Development Programs
A range of both school based and after hours personal development programs are offered by Youth Services throughout the year according to demand and identified needs. Topics include anger management, communication, assertiveness, conflict resolution, self-esteem etc.
Information, Support and Referral
Services are available from Youth Services team members. Referrals can be made through schools, community agencies and families, or by young people themselves.
Maroondah Festival Youth Precinct
An annual event held in February, showcasing local young people and Maroondah Youth Services including a youth stage and entertainment area, rides, activities and information.
National Youth Week Celebrations
An annual event held in April, which includes a range of activities that highlight and celebrate young people and their skills, talents and contributions to the local community.
Maroondah Youth Services participate in a wide range of networks and working groups in an aim to identify youth needs and issues, and advocate for effective responses on behalf of local young people.
