This help page provides you with help and hints on the common features found in Maroondah Online Maps. Maroondah Online Maps is a Geographic Information System (GIS) which provides a graphical view of the City of Maroondah. This system allows you to search for and view graphical information of features such as properties, parklands and local facilities.
Modules
Modules display different sets of information. Maroondah Online Maps allows you to choose from the list of modules using the module drop down list (pictured to the right) . The different modules are:
Choose a module from the combo box and explore the area. You can switch between modules at any stage.
HINT: Use the search function in this module to locate your house, then change to the Facilities Module to find out the closest Primary School, Maternal & Child Heath Centre, Pre School Kindergarten and Reserve.
Property Module
The Property Module is the default module when you start Maroondah Online Maps. Use this module to search for your property and view your Planning Zones and Overlays. The Aerial Photography can be turned on by clicking the "Layer" tab on the right hand side of the screen and ticking Aerial.
Once a property has been selected, related information is displayed in the information panel to the right of the map. Information differs depending on which module has been selected. The following information will be displayed for the Property Module:
- Address
- Suburb
- Ward Name
- Councillor
- Melway Reference
- Garbage Day
- Clean Out Dates
- Planning Zone
- Planning Overlay
Parks and Reserves Module
The Parks and Reserves Module will enable you to search for reserves in Maroondah. Reserves are displayed with a green transparent hashing. Playgrounds and barbeques are shown by symbols displayed on the reserve. The following will be displayed in the information panel for the Parks and Reserves Module:
Facilities Module
The Facilities Module is used to search for community organisations and services for Maroondah residents. Use this module to search on categories such as Schools, Kindergartens, Leisure Facilities and Community Centres etc.

- Closest Primary School
- Closest Maternal & Child Health Centre
- Closest Pre-School Kindergarten
- Closest Reserve
System Toolbar
The System Toolbar allows you to access functionality of Maroondah Online Maps not directly related to the map. Below is an example of what the System Toolbar in Maroondah Online Maps looks like.
