Bayswater North Community Renewal achievements

What has been achieved so far

Since the project started in 2007 so much has been achieved - largely due to the efforts of the community - and there is still so much more to come.

Some examples of what has been achieved so far include:

  • The opening of a new Playspace at Glen Park in March 2011
  • Commencement of a 'Cooking Together' program at Truth and Liberation Concern Church in April 2009
  • Presentation by Bayswater North residents at a Parliamentary enquiry into pedestrian safety in car parks in September 2009
  • Production of a 'Women talking about their communities' DVD in December 2009
  • Various traffic calming and public transport improvements, including the introduction of a right turn arrow at Leighton Road and a new bus shelter at Blandford Crescent.

In March 2012, Bayswater North Community Renewal reported back to the Community through the distribution of an 'achievements' publication.  If you're interested in receiving a copy of the publication email: community.renewal@maroondah.vic.gov.au or call 9294 5738 or 9294 5737.

Organised by residents, 50 in my street stickers placed on more than 300 bins to encourage safer driving.  The Cooking Together program commenced at TLC in April 2009
