Parks, Walking & Cycle Paths

There are over 400 parks and reserves in Maroondah catering for relaxation, recreation and sport. Our parks and reserves offer a variety of facilities including playgrounds; BBQ areas; BMX jumps; skate parks; and walking trails.

To encourage more people to get active in Maroondah, Council has identified 22 circuits across all suburbs in Maroondah that link reserves, playgrounds, schools, kindergartens, shops and public transport.

Off leash areas

There are a number of parks and reserves in Maroondah that are designated as off leash, on leash, or no dog areas.

Residents are welcome to exercise their dogs in off leash areas, but please note, dogs must be put on a lead if there are within 15 metres from:

  • playgrounds or children’s play equipment
  • barbeque or picnic facilities
  • organised sporting events or training sessions
  • while on a shared path
