Christmas is just around the corner, so it’s time to start thinking about how we can continue to be waste-wise.

We all enjoy unwrapping presents, but unfortunately a lot of waste ends up in landfill that could so easily be recycled, such as wrapping paper, packaging, boxes, disposable plates and more.

Recycling is one of the simplest things we can do to reduce our impact on the environment. So, once it’s time to start the post-festive season clean out, please make an effort to sort and then recycle all appropriate material.

Sorting is essential. It is vital that you only place appropriate items in your recycling bin. Non-recyclable material, especially plastic bags, can block machinery and contaminate recyclable material. Plus broken glass poses a hazard for those processing the material.

It’s not just wrapping and packaging that can be recycled, live Christmas trees can be cut into small pieces and placed into the green waste bin.
