Council has endorsed its Annual Report for 2020/21, highlighting its achievements and activities over the past financial year.

The Maroondah City Council Annual Report 2020/21 is Council’s most comprehensive report to the community detailing its progress in meeting strategic goals and community expectations outlined in the Council Plan 2017-2021.

It is a requirement under the Local Government Act 2020 that all local government authorities prepare and submit an annual report to the Minister for Local Government each financial year.

The Annual Report has three components: the report of operations, the performance statement and the financial statements.

Mayor of Maroondah, Cr Kylie Spears, said the document provided a record of the achievements and financial management of Council for the 2020/21 financial year in delivering a wide range of services to the community.

“Council’s Annual Report is a reflection of everything we have achieved over the past 12 months and provides an opportunity to keep the community informed of our progress,” Cr Spears said.

“I’m proud to say that we have successfully completed the final year of the four-year Council Plan during one of the most difficult times in the history of our community,” she said.

“While the document reflects on Council’s activities during 2020/21, we continue to have our sights firmly set on the future. Contained within this comprehensive 264-page document are not only facts and figures, but stories behind what we’ve achieved during a most challenging year and what we expect for the coming year.

“The significant achievements of the past year are highlighted throughout this report and we commend it as a record of the extent of what has been accomplished to ensure our city not only rebounds from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic but remains a well-connected and dynamic city - one that supports a vibrant, healthy and inclusive community,” Cr Spears said.
