Maroondah’s streets and precincts are alive with the sound of music.

Join us for Music in Maroondah - a series of free pop-up performances happening across Maroondah in Summer.

The initiative, delivered in partnership with the Victorian Government through its Local Outdoor Eating and Entertainment Fund, is giving musical artists an opportunity to showcase their talent while helping to create a rich and vibrant atmosphere in support of local businesses.

Catch free pop-up performances this weekend (11 to 12 December), including appearances from lively Jamaican duo, Bonny and Clyde, along with the smooth jazz sounds of saxophonist Mark Casey at McAdam Square Shopping Centre, Croydon North.

The sounds of rock will echo through Heathmont Village with singer-songwriter Jad Pinnone belting out numbers of original blues and rock, while at Eastfield Shopping Centre, songwriter and guitarist Sienna Rose will delight with ambient soundscapes.

Ringwood East Shopping Centre shoppers and traders were last week treated to a special performance by international recording artist Mary Ann Van der Horst, in the first pop-up event of the series. The singer-songwriter rose to fame after her appearance on X Factor Australia in 2014.

Mayor of Maroondah, Cr Mike Symon, said the pop-up music series was designed to provide the opportunity for people to come together outdoors, interact and embrace local performers and precinct traders who have been heavily impacted by COVID-19 restrictions.

“Our arts and culture community have done it particularly hard during prolonged lockdowns and restrictions, so it’s great that we are able to bring back live music to the suburbs, while supporting our local business precincts across our city,” Cr Symon said.

“I encourage everyone to head along to our free pop-up performances this weekend to show your support for our local performers, our local business communities, and to celebrate Music in Maroondah together,” he said.

For a full program line-up of performances, including dates, locations and times, see Music in Maroondah or phone 1300 88 22 33.
