In late 2020/early 2021, Council consulted with the community on the future of Norwood Reserve. This followed an assessment that determined mature pine trees in the reserve were at the end of their useful life expectancy and should be removed. A draft enhancement plan has now been prepared based on your feedback.

Mayor of Maroondah, Councillor Rob Steane, encouraged residents to view the draft and invited them to share their thoughts.

“Thank you to those who provided feedback and helped us develop the draft enhancement plan for Norwood Reserve,” Cr Steane said.

“The draft enhancement plan is now available, so I’d encourage residents to view the draft plan and let us know what you think, as your feedback will help shape the final plan and inform future works in the area.”

The draft enhancement plan focuses on:

  • Strong understory planting as habitat for native small mammals and birds
  • Replacement of indigenous canopy trees
  • Children’s garden and play elements

View the draft enhancement plan on the Your Say Maroondah website and provide your feedback before consultation closes on Sunday 29 January 2023.
