2023 Referendum

The Prime Minister has confirmed a Referendum about a proposed change to the Constitution will be held on Saturday 14 October 2023. See different ways to vote or find out where to vote.

Maroondah City Council supports the effective distribution of clear and concise information from the Australian Government about the referendum and Indigenous Voice to Parliament, so that each person can make an informed choice.

The Referendum will be managed by the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC), the independent statutory authority responsible for running a referendum. The AEC will communicate with voters about their requirement to participate, the purpose of referendums and voting options.
