Annual Report
The Local Government Act 1989 and the new Local Government Act 2020 (the Act 2020) requires all local government authorities to prepare and submit an Annual Report to the Minister as soon as practicable after the end of the financial year.
The Annual Report is Council’s most comprehensive report to the community describing how the Council has met its annual objectives. The central objective of the Annual Report is to inform the Maroondah community and stakeholders of Council’s performance during the financial year against the objectives and priorities outlined in the Council Plan.
The Report highlights the key achievements of Council over the past twelve months and also provides in accordance with the requirements of section 131 of the Act 1989 and section 98 of the Act 2020:
- A report of Council’s operations during the 2020/21 financial year;
- Audited Performance Statements;
- Audited Financial Statements;
- A copy of the auditor's report on the financial statements under Part 3 of the Audit Act 1994; and
- Any other matters prescribed by the regulations.
The Victorian Auditor-General is responsible for the audit of the financial statements and performance statement.
