COVID-19 Coronavirus

As the Coronavirus pandemic impacts Australia, Council is monitoring the situation and taking direction from Australia's Chief Medical Officer and the Department of Health and Human Services.

The Prime Minister announced on Friday 8 May a Roadmap to a COVIDSafe Australia, which involves a 3 step, staged approach over the next few months.

The Premier has provided advice on the easing of restrictions in Victoria which means Council has opened Ringwood and Dorset Golf, our playgrounds, skate parks, Eastfield Dog Park, outdoor gym equipment; and the Braeside Avenue, Ringwood Customer Service Centre.

Council is working with our sporting clubs to discuss the use of our sportsfields for training purposes.

For now, Karralyka, EV’s youth centre, libraries, Realm, Croydon customer service centre, aquatic and leisure centres, and stadiums remain closed.

As we approach the timeframes for the easing of restrictions, Council is working to safely reopen our facilities as soon as possible for the Maroondah community.

We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Protecting our community

Maroondah City Council is taking action to contain the spread of the virus and reduce the risk to the health of our community, including implementing our Pandemic and Business Continuity Management Plans. Due to Federal and State Government requirements to practise social distancing to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 there have been some changes to our venues, services and events.
