Community volunteering

The Maroondah community has shown remarkable community spirit and goodwill during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recent survey results have shown that more than 85% of community volunteering organisations have been impacted by the pandemic, and over 25% of organisations had lost at least 50% or more of their volunteering workforce.

To ensure our community organisations that rely on volunteers are informed and connected, we have partnered with Eastern Volunteers to offer a number of training opportunities to assist with:

  • improving funding capacity
  • recruiting volunteers
  • mitigating risks
  • strategic planning for the future
  • improving governance.

The programs are aimed at organisations that rely on volunteers, including:

  • volunteering groups
  • not-for-profits
  • service providers
  • arts groups
  • kindergartens
  • sporting clubs
  • community houses.
