Changes to Council’s services and facilities

As the Coronavirus pandemic impacts Australia, Council is monitoring the situation and taking direction from Australia's Chief Medical Officer and the Department of Health and Human Services.

The Prime Minister announced on Friday 8 May a Roadmap to a COVIDSafe Australia, which involves a 3 step, staged approach over the next few months.

The Premier has provided advice on the easing of restrictions in Victoria which means Council has opened Ringwood and Dorset Golf, with playgrounds, skate parks and outside exercise equipment to be open for the community to use from Tuesday 26 May. Social distancing requirements will be in place and people should not gather in groups of more than 10, need to stay 1.5 metres apart where possible and practice good personal hygiene.

Council is working with our sporting clubs to discuss the use of our sportsfields for some play and training purposes. For now, Karralyka, EV’s youth centre, libraries (and our customer service centres), aquatic and leisure centres, and stadiums remain closed.

As we approach the timeframes for the easing of restrictions, Council is ready to safely reopen our facilities for the Maroondah community.
