National Disability Insurance Scheme - NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new way of providing support to people under the age of 65 with a permanent and significant disability to live an ordinary life.

The scheme starts to roll out in Maroondah from 1 November 2017.

During the transition period

While the scheme is being introduced existing Commonwealth, State and other government funded disability services will continue. Maroondah clients currently receiving Home & Community Care Program for Younger People services will continue on these services until their NDIS supports are in place. Once these supports are available, clients will be able to choose their own independent/specialist service provider. Council is not a registered provider for NDIS services.

NDIS Transition Coordinator

Maroondah has a dedicated NDIS Transition Coordinator whose role is to support all individuals in Maroondah. They can help you with comprehensive information around the preparation, planning and implementation process for the NDIS.

Our NDIS Transition Coordinator is available to all Maroondah residents to meet with and discuss their transition to NDIS, including what to expect during the process.

They can be contacted on 9298 4625.
