As part of Council’s annual road rehabilitation program, Bedford Road was been identified for asphalt road resurfacing works. This type of road resurfacing consisted of the application of asphalt and is commonly utilised throughout Maroondah and other municipalities to enhance the longevity of the road pavement and to provide a smoother trafficable surface.

The following sections of Bedford Road were be included:

  • Stage 1 - Bedford Road – from Warrandyte Road to Pitt Street
  • Stage 2 - Bedford Road – from Rosewarne Lane to Bedford Court.

The works were undertaken as night works to minimise the impact on traffic within the region. Works were scheduled to commence on Sunday 26 May 2019. It is anticipated that the works will be completed in approximately six nights, subject to weather conditions.

Access during the works

To facilitate a safe working environment for the contractor and the public, night-time road closures were put in place during the works.

The works were undertaken in two stages:

Stage 1
