Council has developed an enhancement plan for Dorset Recreation Reserve to ensure the reserve continues to meet the needs of our community into the future.
The new multipurpose community and sports hub will be home to Croydon City Soccer Club and Maroondah’s Burmese/Myanmar community. The facility is being funded by Council with $2 million from the Australian Government and $2 million from the Victorian Government.
These works form part of the enhancement plan for the reserve, which also includes upgrades to the open space and accessibility within the precinct with improved lighting, signage and carparking.
Key components of the enhancement plan include:
- new multipurpose community sports hub
- new main soccer pitch with lighting
- synthetic soccer pitch with lighting
- warm up pitch (subject to external funding)
- electronic scoreboards (subject to external funding)
- enhanced open space
- relocation and improvement of existing playground
