As part of Council's yearly Electric Line Clearance Management Plan, site inspections and maintenance will occur over 2022 and 2023.

Council’s Electric Line Clearance Management Plan (ELCMP) reflects our commitment to the requirements of the Electricity Safety Act 1998 and Electricity safety (Electric Line Clearance) Regulations 2020 whilst providing high quality, best practice services to the community, ensuring long term viability of our tree asset population.

The ELCMP sets out the plan for tree pruning and inspection around powerlines and along Council roads for the 2022/2023 financial year.

Council undertakes these inspections of trees to ensure public safety and to appropriately maintain any hazardous trees as required.

Inspection schedule

There are approximately 73,000 street trees within Council's declared inspection area. 32,120 (44%) of these trees are affected or potentially affected by powerlines. Council will inspect and prune these trees each year in accordance with the work schedule and inspection map to ensure clearance from adjacent powerlines and also roads and footpaths.
