Amendment C142maro – 35 Alto Avenue Croydon-Heritage Overlay HO147

Council has prepared Amendment C142maro to the Maroondah Planning Scheme. Amendment C142maro applies to 35 Alto Avenue Croydon.

The Amendment proposes to apply heritage protection to 35 Alto Avenue, Croydon and replace the interim heritage protection with permanent heritage protection.

Updates - Council adoption

Council resolved on 24 May 2021 to adopt Amendment C142maro to the Maroondah Planning Scheme in accordance with the Panel’s recommendation.

Following adoption of the Amendment Council has requested approval of the Amendment by the Minister.

Panel Hearing and report

An Independent Planning Panel considered submissions received to the Maroondah Planning Scheme Amendment C142maro and made recommendations to Council.

The panel hearing was a public event held on 13 April 2021 by video conference.

Council received the Panel Report for Amendment C142maro and formally considered the report at the 24 May 2021 Council Meeting.

Background

The Amendment was placed on public exhibition between 26 October 2020 and 30 November 2020.

A total of seven submissions were received during the advertising period.  

Following exhibition of the amendment, Council considered the submissions received and resolved at its meeting on 14 December 2020 to refer the submissions to an independent panel.

At the panel, submitters had have an opportunity to present their submissions. 

Planning Panels Victoria will report its findings to Council and can make recommendations to Council. Council will then consider the Panel Report and decide whether or not to adopt the amendment, with or without changes. 

The Minister for Planning will make the final decision regarding the approval of the Amendment.
