2021 Light up Maroondah - Christmas Lights Competition

Help us 'Light up Maroondah' by entering your house in our 2021 Christmas decorating competition.

It’s time to get the lights and decorations out of storage and decorate your house for your chance to. This competition is available to all residents of the City of Maroondah.

From Monday 13 December you can support the competition by voting online for your favourite house in the People’s Choice Award.

Important dates

  • Entries open: Sunday 28 November
  • Entries close: Sunday 12 December
  • Voting open from Monday 13 December to Sunday 19 December
  • The winner will be announced on Monday 20 December on Council's social media channels

How to enter

Entries will be open from Sunday 28 November to Sunday 12 December. 

There are two ways to enter your house in this years Light up Maroondah competition.

Enter by email 

  • Email the completed entry form, and a photo of your decorated house to by midnight Sunday 12 December.
  • Ensure you read the terms and conditions before you enter and complete the form to submit your entry.

Download and print an invitation to enter and pop it in the letterbox of a house that you’ve noticed has gone above and beyond for Christmas this year!

Hard copies can also be picked up from our Realm and Croydon service centres.

How to Vote 

Voting is open online from Monday 13 December until Sunday 19 December. 

The online voting form will be published on Monday 13 December. 

Be COVID safe

For those of you looking to go enjoy the Christmas lights this year, please remember the Victorian Government’s social distancing restrictions still remain in place.

This means we all need to keep 1.5 metres away from other people and avoid close contact with people you do not live with. We all have a role to play in keeping ourselves and our community safe, so please remain in your cars and enjoy the Christmas lights in a COVID safe way.
