Come along to our Celebrate Maroondah - Tarralla Creek Community Planting Day on Sunday 15 May.
Over the past 18 months, a section of Tarralla Creek and the Croydon Wetlands have undergone major enhancement works to create a natural oasis for the community to enjoy.
As part of Council’s Celebrate Maroondah series, we are hosting a Tarralla Creek Community Planting Day in partnership with Melbourne Water and Friends of Tarralla Creek.
The event will include:
- Planting activities - BYO gardening gloves
- Screening of Regenerating Australia (17 minute short film) at 10am on the Fred Geale Oval carpark.
- Roving performers
- Wildlife display
- Coffee van (BYO takeaway cup)
- Free sausage sizzle
We have nearly 3000 tube stock to plant along the creek. We will be planting Bulbine Lily, Austral Clematis; Kidney-Weed; Common Flat-pea; Velvet Tussock-grass; Trailing Speedwell and Native Violet.
The event starts at 10am on the Fred Geale Oval carpark, Norton Road, with a Film screening at Celebrate Maroondah — Regenerating Australia. The short film features a host of well-known Australian faces, Regenerating Australia is a 17-minute short film based on a four month ‘listening campaign’ with a diverse group of Australians who shared their hopes and dreams for the country’s future.
